The 15 strongest Hashiras in Demon Slayer

Publicado por

The Hashiras are Demon Slayer’s strongest Onis Terminators and the only ones capable of taking on Muzan and his Superior Moons. Originally, the Hashiras are made up of 9 members, but Tanjiro and his companions have also evolved a lot throughout the battles. So this list counts all the Hashiras and the exterminators, who match their skills.

Demon Slayer’s strongest Hashiras and demon hunters, ranked:

Genya Shinazugawa

Genya is the weakest among the main exterminators of the series. As he had no aptitude to learn a breathing technique, Genya decided to use the powers of demons to fight them. He can turn into a demon temporarily when he eats the flesh of one of them.

That way, he can use the powers of the demon he devours and regenerate his body. Genya was a great help to the Hashiras when they fought Kokushibo, the High Moon One, but he would not have endured the fight to the end if he had to fight alone.

Inosuke Hashibara

Inosuke differs from all the other exterminators by having an unusual body. He can dislocate any organ in his body without suffering muscle pain, a skill that has become very useful for his unique fighting style.

His body developed in this abnormal way because he was raised as a wild animal by wild boars. Having animal instincts helps you to be more flexible, fierce and sharpens your senses. With this difference, Inosuke became a stronger exterminator than usual, and was able to keep up with the Hashiras with little training.

Zenitsu Agatsuma

Unlike the other exterminators, Zenitsu never shows excitement or determination when going to fight a demon. He is afraid to fight and always makes a big fuss when he is in danger. However, Zenitsu shows its potential when it is asleep.

He always faints when he gets too scared and his body acts on its own at these times. While he is sleepwalking, Zenitsu becomes more serious and confident to fight. Although he always complains and cries in fear, Zenitsu has managed to evolve enough to defeat the Superior Moon Six by himself.

Kanao Tsuyuri

When Kanao met Tanjiro, she was already an exterminator with skills very close to the Hashiras. Since she started training with Shinobu Kocho and her late sister, Kanae Kocho, Kanao has learned everything she needs to develop a breathing technique.

So she was already one of the most promising candidates within the Final Selection. She has keen eyesight, able to analyze someone’s movements very precisely. Her vision is further developed by using the Tsui no kata: Higan Shugan, which allows her to see things in slow motion. However, this technique overloads her eyes until she loses her sight. That was his secret weapon to kill Doma, the Superior Moon Two.

Shinobu Kocho

Shinobu is unable to cut off a demon’s head because she does not have enough physical strength to do so. So she developed her own fighting style, insect breathing, this style focuses on using poison to kill the demons.

Using a sword with a thin blade, Shinobu injects portions of deadly poisons to the demons, they cannot resist even with the regenerative power. Her knowledge of poison and combat capabilities make her worthy of being a Hashira even without having the strength to cut off a head.

Obanai Iguro

Obanai specialized in his own style of breathing, reproducing the style of a snake in his attacks with a wavy sword. The snake’s breath attacks caused a great deal of damage to Muzan when he was cornered by the Hashiras.

He lets his snake, Kaburamaru, guide him when he is incapacitated, so he was able to keep fighting after he lost his sight in battle. Without Obanai’s help, probably Tanjiro and the other Hashiras would not have defeated Muzan, as he was one of the most resilient until the end.

Tanjiro Kamado

Tanjiro’s skill as an exterminator was beyond the average that most usually reach, and even the Hashiras were impressed with his growth. After gaining more experience in the battles, he became stronger and even managed to defeat the Superior Moons.

Initially, he fought with water breathing, but later switched this technique to Hinokami Kagura, also known as sun breathing. He and all the exterminators retired when the squadron was disbanded and they beat Muzan. However, if the fights went on, it is not doubtful that Tanjiro would turn into a Hashira with his talent.

Mitsuri Kanroji

Mitsuri is the Hashira of Love and one of her main talents is an unusual muscular strength. She can grasp and lift heavy objects that a normal person could not. In addition to muscle strength, she also has a lot of flexibility in her movements to do acrobatics.

Your breath of love is also an original creation and you need a unique sword to use it. Her sword is long, springy and flexible, a weapon that works only with Mitsuri’s precise, acrobatic style.

Tengen Uzui

Tengen is one of the fastest Hashiras in the squad, and with his shinobi knowledge, he uses techniques that no other exterminator would know how to use. Before becoming a Terminator of Onis, he was an elite shinobi, specializing in hand-to-hand combat and evasive movements.

Combining shinobi techniques with sword techniques, Tengen invented sound breathing. His technique is based on surprise and quick attacks, which can cut off a demon’s head without him realizing it. But if he faces a stronger enemy, such as Gyutaro, Tengen needs to adapt his movements to keep up with the pace of the fight.

Kyojuro Rengoku

Rengoku was the Hashira of the Flames and he fitted perfectly into this post as he had formidable determination. Even though he was on the verge of death, he did not show a sign of fear or regret.

In the movie Demon Slayer: Infinite Train, Rengoku managed to fight multiple demons and protect 200 passengers at the same time. He was killed in combat by Akaza, the High Moon Three, but only a Hashira that strong could hold out in a fight against a High Moon for that long.

Muichiro Tokito

From his youthful appearance, Muichiro seems like just a distracted kid, but he is the most promising exterminator among the Hashiras. He was the first to awaken the hunter’s mark and defeat a High Moon single-handedly.

When he awakened his mark, Muichiro perfected his mist breathing, becoming more skilled than most characters. He died in the fight against Kokushibo, but probably would have become the best of all stronger Hashiras.

Sanemi Shinazugawa

Sanemi holds a grudge against the demons for killing his family, so he is the Hashira who most longs for the death of Muzan and all the demons. He uses ferocious wind-breathing attacks that put pressure on even Kokushibo.

Upper Moon One also fights like a swordsman and has many more years of experience than humans. So his recognition emphasizes that Sanemi’s sword technique is much better than people anticipated.

Giyu Tomioka

Tomioka is the first Hashira introduced in Demon Slayer and it was he who guided Tanjiro to train with Urokodaki and learn water breathing. He doesn’t feel worthy of being the Hashira of Water due to his guilt, but Tomioka has become one of the strongest pillars of the squad even without recognizing his worth.

He easily defeated Rui, one of the Kizuki Twelve, using the eleventh form of water breathing, a stroke developed by himself. Even Akasa recognized Tomioka as the most skilled Water Hashira to emerge in the last 50 years.

Gyomei Himejima

Gyomei is the Hashira of the Stone and the strongest Oni Terminator the squad had in its last generation. He was considered the best of the strongest Hashiras in the anime and manga during the events of the series. Instead of using a typical sword, he uses an axe and a pointed flail attached by a chain.

With the heavy handling of his weapon, Gyomei kills the demons with brutal attacks. Kokushibo acknowledges that Gyomei trained to the peak of his strength and also admits that he has not met anyone as skilled as him in 300 years.

Yoriichi Tsugikuni

Yoriichi is the strongest Onis Terminator in Demon Slayer history, also being the strongest of the Hashiras, and the first human born with the ability to use a breathing style. He took no pleasure in fighting and hurting others, but he had an exquisite talent as a swordsman.

Even Muzan was no match for Yoriichi’s strength, so to avoid his death, the Demon King avoided crossing paths with him again for his entire life. He was the originator of the sun breath, which gave rise to all other derivations of existing breaths. His knowledge was crucial for future generations to have a chance of victory against the demons.

So there you have it, the strongest demon hunters and Hashiras in Demon Slayer.
